Night Moves (1975)

Directed by Arthur Penn (Bonnie and Clyde, Little Big Man), Night Moves rethinks the conventions of 1940s film noir with a 1970s sensibility. Hackman stars as a Los Angeles detective who leaves his marital woes behind to pursue a missing person case in the Florida Keys and in the process, reopens an old murder investigation. Night Moves also features Jennifer Warren (Ice Castles, Slap Shot), James Woods and 17-year-old Melanie Griffith in her feature film debut.

DVD special features include:

* Vintage Featurette The Day of the Director
* Theatrical Trailer

Scarecrow (1973)

An ex-con (Gene Hackman) and an ex-sailor (Al Pacino) learn about each other and themselves when they scheme to save their pennies to buy a car wash. Cited by Hackman as one of his favorite roles, Scarecrow marks the first and only on-screen pairing of Hackman and Pacino. Directed by Jerry Schatzberg, with glowing cinematography from Vilmos Zsigmond (The Deer Hunter, Close Encounters of the Third Kind), Scarecrow won the Palm d’Or at the 1973 Cannes Film Festival.

DVD special features include:

* Vintage Featurette On the Road with Scarecrow
