Directed by Ishiro Honda (The Godzilla Series!) After a yacht is damaged in a storm and it’s boarders stranded on a deserted island the passengers; a psychologist and his girlfriend, a wealthy businessman, a famous singer, a writer, a sailor and his skipper take refuge in a mysterious fungus-covered boat. While using the MUSHROOMS for sustenance they find in the ships journal that the mushrooms re poisonous, however some members of the shipwrecked party continue to ingest the mysterious fungi transforming them into hideous ungal monsters. One of the strangest and most horrific TOHO productions to date.

Je sais que je vais être tout seul sur ce thread mais il me le fooo absolument... il me fait trop de l'oeil.

A la lecture du synopsis, ça a l'air plutôt sympa comme film.

After a Japanese town is totally destroyed, the military arrive to investigate. They encounter a giant robot that is decimating everything in its path. A dome appears out of the ground and a group of scientists are invited to meet the alien Mysterians from the planet Mysteroid. The Mysterians have come in peace; all they ask humanity for is three-square kilometers of land and the right to interbreed with Earth women to repopulate their species. Outraged at such a suggestion, humanity declares war on the Mysterians.

EXELLENT FILM !!!!!!!

"Matango" est passé il y a deux ans (environ, peut-être un peu plus) sur une des chaînes de Canal Satellite, en VO/stf. Il est effectivement assez différent des films de Honda en général (dans le genre fantastique/SF, je veux dire, car Honda a fait beaucoup d'autres genres de films... et non, les motos, c'est pas lui , laissez-le se reposer tout de même...). Quand on pense à Honda, on pense évidemment à Godzilla et à ses nombreuses suites, à Rodan, à Mothra et tous ces films magiques que le maître japonais nous a légués... Mais ici, nous sommes plus proches de ses films d'épouvante comme "L'homme H" ou "The Human Vapor". C'est aussi, curieusement, une adaptation très réussie du récit de William Hope Hodgson, "A Voice in the Night"...

Prisonnières des Martiens etait passé il y a quelques années sur Canal +, bien sympatoche d'ailleurs, je me souviens avoir veillé jusqu'à assez tard dans la nuit pour le voir...
